Cherry Springs State Park has the darkest skies east of the Mississippi. Being on a mountain however, causes unpredictable swings in the weather. I have pretty much seen it all from up there, mostly experiencing the bitter cold. This particular trip I was blessed with mild temperatures and clear skies all night! The sky was so clear that the stars in the window on this photo are a reflection of a different part of the sky. I thought it was extra neat that they lined up almost creating an optical illusion. The Aurora Borealis also appeared.
